“That Damn Puppet Slam” showcases the talents of local and visiting puppeteers who provide short form performances with adult themes such as politics, sex, horror, irony and bawdiness. The
lineup includes 10 performers as well as music by The Brand, with their unique mix of pop-punk and indie rock.
The show is for adults only and a cash bar will be provided. The $10 admission fee includes one free drink ticket and proceeds benefit the Puppet Guild of South Florida, a non-profit organization that encourages the art of puppetry in its many forms.
Jerry Halliday brings Twinky Boy, the world’s gayest puppet out of the closet for an OUTrageous and OUTlandish performance with brisk barbs and rapid fire repartee. Halliday has been a frequent performer in the casino showrooms of Las Vegas, Reno, and Atlantic City and at the legendary nightclubs of South Florida. Dan Christopher, a grown man who makes a living playing with dolls and talking to himself, has performed in exotic locations around the world and on the sea. He brings an assortment of comic characters to life, including a chicken with lots of surprises. Special guest Ayhan Hulagu is a puppeteer from Turkey who performs with traditional Turkish shadow puppets. He is also a professional actor, writer, and provider of puppetry workshops.
