The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and the Performance Project School of the Arts offer Spring Break Theater Camp 2018 from March 26–30 at the Broward Center.
Under the direction of artistic professional Nina Felice, campers gain hands-on experience in musical theater, acting, dance, voice and technical production for ages seven to 13. Students rehearse for the Broadway revue Once Upon a Showtime that features a lively selection of music and dance numbers. The camp culminates with a live performance before campers’ friends and family in the JM Family Studio Theater at the Broward Center on Thursday, March 29 at 6 p.m.
The camp introduces a new teen program this year where teens ages 14 to 18 receive coaching on a song and monologue which they perform in a recital on the final day. The teens will also receive the opportunity to receive volunteer hours for helping coach the younger campers for the first half of each day. This program is especially helpful for preparing for competitions and auditions.
Tuition is $295 for camps for ages seven to nine and ages ten to 13. Tuition for the teen program is $125. Fees include scripts and costumes.
Campers must bring their own lunches and snacks. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with before camp hours (8 to 9 a.m.) available for the weekly rate of $20 and after camp hours (4 to 6 p.m.) available for the weekly rate of $40.
Registration is now available online at BrowardCenter.org/camp, in person at the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center on the Broward Center campus from Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., or by phone at 954.414.6904.
