About Patricia: Patricia’s current work is acrylic abstract, intuitive and reflecting her observations, experiences, and love of color. She has a studio at Zero Empty Spaces in the BRiC in Boca Raton FL.She teaches at the New Studio in Jupiter, FL. The class is called BEYOND THE BRUSH, guiding students in the use of scrapers and palette knives to help them loosen up and discover their intuitive mark-making. At Valencia Cove she teaches both Beyond the Brush Acrylic Abstracts and a Mixed-Media Abstract Acrylic Collage classes. She teaches Watercolor Basics at Coral Lakes Community and taught Acrylic Painting at Lost Tree Community from 2020-2022. She offers classes at many area communities. She was born and raised in St. Louis, MO in 1943 and attended Southwest Missouri State Collage for 2 years, studying art and education.
When she married in 1965, she moved to Peoria, IL and then to Fairfield, CT where she met her teacher/mentor, Caesar Cirigliano. She studied at his studio for 5 years. She opened her first studio in Fairfield, CT in 1980 where she taught privately and at the Greenwich Art Society in Greenwich, CT. Patricia was an elected artist member of the Silvermine Guild of Artist in Wilton, CT. Her work won awards in juried shows in New England, with several solo shows at area galleries and Fairfield University in 1990. She moved to Ft Smith, AR in 1996, taught at the Center for Art Education now called Arts on Main in Van Buren, AR and the Ft. Smith Art Center, now named the Ft Smith Regional Art Museum (RAM). Patricia also taught small groups weekly and workshops in the surrounding communities during the 20 years she resided in AR. She exhibited at area galleries and charity art shows in the mid-west and south and moved to FL in 2016 after her husband passed. Her son and grandchildren are here in Boca Raton.
