The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale will host renowned artist Mark Cameron in the Mark K. Wheeler Gallery.

A native of Jamaica, Cameron has been referred to as the Renaissance Man for his versatile work in both art and culinary. From a young age, his interest in nature and the environment influenced his landscape and seascape paintings. He developed a love of abstract and impressionism after migrating to New York City.

Cameron has exhibited works at the Urban league National Conference, Kroma Art Gallery Studio at Art Basel 2017, The United Nations in New York, and recently presented a portrait to NASA’s Katherine Johnson from the iconic movie Hidden Figures. In addition to his artistry, Cameron has conducted cooking demonstrations on FOX, NBC, and CBS.

He looks to stimulate not only the mind with his art but the palette as well. Cameron currently works out of his studio in Plantation Acres in Florida, where he has become prolific in producing abstract, representational, and impressionistic art.
