The stunning photos of Michael Fazkerley depict portraits of nightlife’s wildest club life setting trends in fashion, style, performance art and music in New York City.

Born in Philadelphia, Fazakerley moved to New York City in 1978 and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology where in 1981 he received an award from Andy Warhol and Bruce Weber for the Designers Collective project. Fazakerley would go on to work as a freelance photo stylist for Francesco Scavullo, Greg Gorman and others in addition to 10 year run as a visual director for Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani in the 1990s and early 2000s. His own personal work featured here from the mid-80s to the mid-90s includes many of the stars who made the scene notorious for its unbridled originality. This first ever solo exhibition of Fazakerley’s work will also culminate in the addition of his remarkable body of work into SNMA’s permanent collection, where it will be preserved for generations to come. On exhibition until January 20, 2019.
