Louder Than A Bomb Florida (#LTABFLA) Food For Thought Block Party Presented by Hoffman’s Chocolates, LIME Fresh Mexican Grill, and The Fountains in Plantation.
The Food for Thought Block Party, an afternoon of live entertainment, will celebrate the Jason Taylor Foundation’s Louder Than A Bomb Florida (LTABFLA) Youth Poetry Festivaland will take place in front of Hoffman’s Chocolates and LIME Fresh Mexican Grill at The Fountains Shopping Center in Plantation, Florida.
The Block Party (free to attend) will showcase performances by up-and-coming artists, step team/marching band performances, a live DJ, poetry from South Florida high school students, a street art competition, a Hoffman’s Chocolates Art Station, interactive activities presented by Museum of Discovery and Science, Miami Dolphins and the Florida Panthers, face-painting, balloon and henna artists, a Best Buy Gaming Station and other activities for the entire family.
During that day, Hoffman’s Chocolates will also host Decorate Your Own Gourmet Caramel Apple Classes, for guests ages 6 and up (maximum 5 children per class). The cost is $12.95* per child. *10% of all apple classes and individual gourmet apple sales during the month of April will be donated to the Jason Taylor Foundation.
LIME Fresh is providing a children’s area in front of the store, complete with hula hoops, arts and crafts, large Jenga, jump ropes and Cornhole.
Members of the Florida Panthers Roar Core Team; Stanley and -, the Florida Panthers’ mascots; the LIME Fresh mascot; and TD, the Miami Dolphins mascot; will also be on hand for meet & greets and photos.
There will also be a raffle with prizes including three chocolate footballs with the packaging signed by NFL Hall-of-Famer Jason Taylor.
The event is a part of LTABFLA’s 34-day festival, which takes place from March 11 – April 13 and features poetry bouts, workshops and exhibits that ultimately crowns Florida’s top youth poetry team.
Throughout the entire month of April (in honor of National Poetry Month), Hoffman’s Chocolates will donate a portion of its Gourmet Caramel Apple sales to the Jason Taylor Foundation to support the young poets of the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network.
LTABFLA (Louder Than A Bomb Florida) is a Jason Taylor Foundation arts and education project that is part of the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network and features a friendly spoken-word competition between school-based poetry teams across the state.
The Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network, is an after-school spoken word poetry program serving students in South Florida schools through the Jason Taylor Foundation.
12 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Louder Than A Bomb Food For Thought Block Party
12pm. – 5 p.m.: Decorate Your Own Gourmet Caramel Apple Classes at Hoffman’s Chocolates in The Fountains will be held every 30 minutes (12:00 Noon, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 2:30, 3:00pm, 3:30pm, 4:00pm and 4:30pm.)
