The Fort Lauderdale Story Slam is a regular storytelling contest in which people tell 5-7 minute true stories about their own lives. The performers include both novices and seasoned storytellers, and the stories cover a wide range of human experience from the utterly silly to the deeply profound. There are even opportunities for the audience to get involved with fun, interactive storytelling games between the stories.
The theme of the evening on January 13th is “Here’s What I Really Think.”
If you’ve got a great story and you’d like to be in the slam, please submit your idea online at www.worldandeye.com/storyslam or by phone or email: (954) 279-0994 / helen@worldandeye.com. There is $100 prize money for the favorite story of the night, and two $50 prizes for the runners-up.
