Broward College Village Square will host the third Take Out Tuesday event of the 2016-2017 Village Square series. This debate will focus on the topic “The Economic Development of Florida: Corporate Welfare or Job Incentives?” The discussion will be a spirited but fact-based, civil debate about whether Florida should offer financial incentives for companies to relocate headquarters to the state or if these incentives are another corporate welfare.

The series of non-partisan debates features guest speakers discussing their views on various issues facing the local community. The goal of Take Out Tuesday events is to hold public forums to better educate the public on divisive issues.

The debate will be moderated by Marcia Heroux Pounds, writer for Sun Sentinel Business. Panelists include Andres Malave, Spokesman for Americans for Prosperity; and Alan Becker, Founding Shareholder of Becker & Poliakoff and Board Member of Enterprise FL.

The event is free to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring their own take-out dinners. Space is limited, so advanced registration is encouraged. Official partners of the Village Square are the Broward League of Cities and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.
