Born in Tel Aviv and raised into a musical family, Anat Cohen attended the finest Israeli schools before matriculating at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. Studying clarinet from age 12 and later tenor sax, jazz captured her imagination as she explored Sidney Bechet to Sonny Rollins. Now a seasoned veteran, the Jazz Journalists Association has voted Anat Clarinetist of the Year eight years in a row, and she has topped both the Critics and Readers Polls in the clarinet category in DownBeat magazine every year since 2011. Anat is the ultimate musical story teller.
