Riverwalk Tribute


Riverwalk’s premier annual event, Riverwalk Tribute, honors community leaders that have made a significant, positive contribution to Riverwalk and the City of Fort Lauderdale. The 24th Annual Riverwalk Tribute was on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Riverside Hotel, and honored:

Alexa and Britt Lanier TWO MEN AND A TRUCK

Alexa and Britt Lanier are the team powering TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s South Florida growth. Britt Lanier, a Fort Lauderdale native, started South Florida’s first TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise, growing to four locations currently. Alexa Lanier’s experience marketing national brands has helped drive that growth. The Lanier’s are avid boaters whose passion has driven them to serve on the boards of Riverwalk and Winterfest.

Bill Walker Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi

Walker has built the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi into a quintessential experience for tourists and locals alike, showcasing Fort Lauderdale’s scenic waterways.  Since Walker took over in 2007, Water Taxi and the Riverwalk Water Trolley have come to serve over 1.5 million passengers annually and have become an integral part of our transportation infrastructure. Walker serves on the boards of Riverwalk and Winterfest.

Jarett S. Levan • BBX Capital

Levan is President and CEO of BBX Capital, a diversified investment and asset management company, and CEO of IT’SUGAR and BBX Sweet Holdings, including iconic Fort Lauderdale brands Hoffman’s Chocolates and Las Olas Confections and Snacks.  Levan is Chairman of Business for the Arts Broward and sits on numerous boards including the BBX Capital Foundation and the Broward Performing Arts Foundation.

Phil Purcell • Marine Industries Association of South Florida

Purcell has been the President and CEO of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, owner of the world renowned Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, since 2014.  Purcell’s leadership experience in the yacht building industry and international relationships have helped to advance South Florida as one of the global centers of the yachting and marine industries, one of our region’s key industries.
