Bobby Watson sits among the pantheon of present-day jazz greats. A multi-GRAMMY®-nominated saxophonist, composer, bandleader, educator and producer, Watson spent 25 years on the NYC jazz scene and has received several well-deserved awards. He earned his “doctorate” as musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. During his four-plus years with the legendary drummer, the saxophonist contributed to 14 Jazz Messengers recordings. In November 2019, he participated as one-third of the Bird At 100 front line, sharing the spotlight with fellow altoists Vincent Herring and Gary Bartz. He continues to tour throughout the US and abroad.
