A great gift for theater lovers! The premiere of a musical and poetic performance based on the works of the great poets Joseph Brodsky, Marina Tsvetaeva and Yuri Levitansky “Orpheus” with the unsurpassed Chulpan Khamatova in the title role!

A small woman with a big heart, strong character and bright talent speaks from the stage about the unconditional goodness and the need for freedom, about the value of life and mercy, about peace and hope. A performance-confession, a performance-revelation, “Orpheus” is a duet in which the music complements the word, and the word complements the music. Khamatova’s partner in this performance was Alexander Boldachev, one of the leading harp players, a composer with an individual style, the founder of the Zurich Harp Festival and the initiator of the World Harp Day.

At a time when one can find consolation, hope, freedom only in the melody of words and the sounds of music, the performance “Orpheus” arose. The actress and musician chose the poems and music for their production with their hearts. This is a performance-monologue, a performance-soul: quiet, subtle, full of awe, music and poetry.

Chulpan Khamatova is a subtle great artist, a public figure, the founder and soul of the Podari Zhizn charity foundation. Thanks to the activities of this organization, funds were raised to help 73,000 children suffering from cancer. Khamatova does not leave this work even now, as always helping the foundation with all her might. Her roles in film and theater are striking in their authenticity. The images created by her are always truthful and multifaceted. Today, the filmography of Chulpan Khamatova includes more than 50 films and TV series, among which there are works with the best film directors of the era: “Moon Dad” by Bakhtiyar Khudoynazarov, “72 meters” and “Death of the Empire” by Vladimir Khotinenko, “Garpastum” and “Paper Soldier” by Alexei German- Jr., “Children of the Arbat” by Andrey Eshpay, “Doctor Zhivago” by Alexander Proshkin. The actress herself became the laureate of prestigious film and theater awards several times.

Chulpan Khamatova performed on the stages of the best theaters. In 1998, the young actress was invited to the legendary Sovremennik. The actress took part in the productions of the Gogol Center, the Theater of Nations, the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, Theater of the Moon. In March 2022, Chulpan Khamatova moved to Latvia, where the legendary director Alvis Hermanis invited her to join the troupe of the New Riga Theatre. To awaken in people hearing, sensitivity, music of love has become the essence of creativity and life of Chulpan Khamatova.

In Orpheus, the actress will talk to everyone, but everyone will hear their own – the main thing that is necessary. For some, the performance will become an outlet, for others a manifesto. And someone will give hope for a world in which the harmony of words and music is more important than battles and struggle, and art is above any boundaries.
