The Broward Public Library Foundation welcomes author Fiona Davis to the 12th annual LitLUNCH! on March 18, 2022. Davis is the bestselling author of six historical fiction novels set in iconic New York City landmarks. In her newest novel, The Magnolia Palace, Davis takes readers on a journey through the magnificent Frick Mansion, a real-life New York City home that was built in 1914, and the beautiful art collection that American industrialist Henry Frick amassed during his lifetime. The book has an alternating timeline between 1919 and 1969 and weaves a story with secrets, betrayals, and murder. LitLUNCH! 2022 presenting sponsor is The Haller Foundation.

The Library Journal review states “Davis adeptly interweaves two compelling story lines to shine a light on another NYC landmark… This is historical fiction at its best, with well-developed characters, detail, art history, and mystery.”

Davis’ previous books include The Dollhouse, The Address, and her most recent, The Lions of Fifth Avenue. This story is set at the New York Public Library, which is being plagued with book thefts in 1913, as well as 80 years later. The novel was chosen as a Good Morning America Book Club pick.

LitLUNCH! is the kick-off to Literary Feast, the Broward Public Library Foundation’s annual fundraising event. This year’s event begins at 11:15 a.m. at the Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW 5th Ave, Fort Lauderdale). The luncheon includes a multi-course lunch with complimentary wine, an auction and raffle, and book sales and signings.

Tickets are $120 and include a signed copy of The Magnolia Palace. Proceeds support Broward County Library children’s literacy programs and services funded by the Broward Public Library Foundation.
