Tri-Rail, South Florida’s premier commuter rail system, invites vocally inclined children ages 5 to 17 to audition for “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent,” a singing competition held as part of Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day.” Young singers from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are encouraged to audition for the chance to compete in the judged event. Auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, at Galleria Fort Lauderdale (2414 East Sunrise Boulevard).
The singing competition is open to solo or group singers who are South Florida residents. Each act will have a four-minute opportunity to perform at the auditions. Judges will select the acts that will compete in the final competition, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 19, during Tri-Rail’s 13th annual “Rail Fun Day.” This year’s competition winner will receive a $500 grand prize, a photo shoot with composite cards courtesy of Posche Models & Talent and a professional studio recording session with MikeSoperMusic.
In 2019, 10-year-old Carly Cantor of Wellington was crowned the winner of Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent.” Cantor’s stage presence and performance of “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5 won over the crowd and judges.
Over the past 10 years, Tri-Rail’s “Rail Fun Day” has welcomed more than 23,000 families. The event has become an annual tradition as a free afternoon of interactive games, arts and crafts, and entertainment while promoting the benefits of riding the commuter rail system.
Applicants are required to schedule an audition time for Tri-Rail’s “South Florida’s Kids Got Talent,” by calling Michael Goodman at (954) 806-2869 by Monday, December 6. The public is invited to watch the auditions and cheer on their favorite singer. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/TriRailSoFlaKidsGotTalent2021.
