HALLELUJAH! For the very first time, Sebrina Maria Alfonso conducts the South Florida Symphony Orchestra in Handel’s glorious holiday tradition, Messiah. Kick off the holiday season as dazzling vocal soloists Neil Nelson, bass baritone; Martin Nusspaumer, tenor; Brittany Graham, soprano; Rehanna Thelwell, mezzo-soprano along with the South Florida Symphony Chorus, perform Part I (Christmas portion), culminating in the iconic “Hallelujah” Chorus.
“A musical rite of the holiday season, the Baroque-era oratorio still awes listeners 250 years after the composer’s death” — Smithsonian Magazine
While it is popularly viewed as a Christmas work (which actually reflects on the Christian Lent and Easter stories), Messiah’s musical narrative brilliance transcends belief systems. This is sure to be the premier musical experience for the whole family this holiday season.
