Wednesday, April 21, 2021
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Event Type

Join Australian author and illustrator Andrew Joyner in a program based on his book Stand Up! Speak Up!: A story inspired by the Climate Change Revolution.

Andrew will take you behind the scenes to show the process and inspiration that led to his picture book, Stand Up! Speak Up! A Story Inspired by the Climate Change Revolution. He will then demonstrate how anyone can write, illustrate and publish their own Stand Up! Speak Up! mini-book, to inspire everyone to show up for our planet.

Materials needed: A sheet of ordinary copy paper; scissors (and a helpful adult); things to draw with, such as pencils and pens; your imagination!

ANDREW JOYNER is the illustrator and author of numerous children’s books, including the #1 New York Times bestseller, Dr. Seuss’s The Horse Museum, The Pink Hat, Stand Up! Speak Up!, The Hair Book by Graham Tether, Duck and Hippo in the Rainstorm by Jonathan London, and The Terrible Plop by Ursula Dubosarsky. He also wrote and illustrated the Boris chapter book series about an adventure-seeking warthog. His books are now published in more than twenty-five countries. He lives with his family on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.
