Louis Armstrong, also known as Satchmo, Satch and Pops, was an American trumpeter, composer, vocalist and actor who was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades, from the 1920s to the 1960s, and different eras in the history of jazz. With his instantly recognizable rich, gravelly voice, Armstrong was also an influential singer and skillful improviser, bending the lyrics and melody of a song.  His songbook includes top hits such as “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Georgia on my Mind,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “When You’re Smiling,” “When the Saints go Marching In,” “Jeepers Creepers,” “Hello Dolly,” “What A Wonderful World,” and so many more!

Troy Anderson revels in channeling the great Satchmo in concerts across the country. Schooled in the trumpet since grade school, he is a phenomenal musician who also has an uncanny voice. In fact, Anderson often has to prove to people that he is not lip syncing to tracks of Louis Armstrong—he is that good!
