The African-American Research Library & Cultural Center (AARLCC) debuts a free, new program series, “Cultural Conversations at the Center,” with an appearance by Dr. Stefan M. Bradley, author, professor and Chair of the African American Studies Department at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.
Dr. Bradley will discuss how Black student activism changed higher education relative to social justice and racial equality. His research spans Black student activism from the contributions of Black Greek letter organizations, to the Black Power and Black Studies Movements, to present day student activism around Black Lives Matter. Attendees will learn how Black student activism has changed universities and their surrounding communities.
Dr. Bradley’s lecture is the educational counterpart to the popular AARLCC social event #DestinationFridays. In the month of September, the Destination Fridays theme will celebrate the Black Greek letter organizations that make up the Divine 9.
