“Turning Tables”, the latest play by Rick Karlin, consists of two one act plays each taking place in the same residence, 50 years apart. Act I is set in the late 1960s, in an apartment in a northern city. As the play begins, an older Jewish couple (Rose and Leo) are moving out of the apartment where they have lived most of their adult lives, with the help of their adult son Adam, and retiring to Florida. Act II is the same apartment now. The neighborhood is becoming trendy and a gay couple (Michael and Harry) are moving in together for the first time, when Michael’s mother (Edna)stops by to see the place and meet her son’s new boyfriend.

Award-winning poet and journalist Gregg Shapiro will narrate. The play was written, and the reading directed, by Rick Karlin.
