FHV 32nd annual WESTONLAWYERS.com Golf Classic

The Weston Rotary Club annually hosts a Golf Classic to raise money for scholarships for outstanding students in our community.  Last year, the 2018 WestonLawyers.com Golf Classic helped graduating seniors, in financial need; achieve their dreams with over $125,000 in scholarships. Many of these students are the first in their family to attend college.  This year’s Rotary Club of Weston’s 32nd annual Golf Classic   FHV  Westonlawyers.COM, formerly called the Wesonlawyers.com, is being held on Friday April 26th, 2019 at the Weston Hills Country Club.

Golfers return year after year to support these scholarships while they enjoy 18 holes on each of the two par 72 Robert Trent Jones courses, a delicious buffet luncheon, awards, spectacular prizes and valuable raffle and auction items such as travel, golf and spa packages.  Many area businesses have become loyal and generous sponsors of the Golf Classic, but there is always an opportunity for new sponsors who want to support our area youth with much needed scholarships.

Scholarships range from several hundred dollars to full two- and four-year rides and are presented to outstanding seniors from Cypress Bay High School and Sagemont in Weston, Western High School in Davie and HANDY. Scholarship recipients are interviewed and selected from hundreds of applicants.  The students selected demonstrate financial need and qualities of character reflecting Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” and are recognized, along with our sponsors, at the club’s annual Scholarship Awards breakfast in May. The awards help deserving students attend colleges throughout the state, with some attending schools out of state.  Many of them return to Weston to visit the club, some join a Rotaract service club in college, and still others become Rotarians themselves as adults.
