Join NSU professor of Philosophy, Dr. Ben Mulvey, as he explores concepts of “friendship,” “morality,” and “anthropomorphism” within human and (some) non-human animals. Can humans and (some) non-human animals be friends? This lecture is in conjunction with our Cobra Collection, on view in our current exhibition Remember to React: 60 Years of Collecting.

Ben Mulvey, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Political Science in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and has been a member of the NSU faculty since 1988. He received his doctorate from Michigan State University with a specialization in political theory and applied ethics. Dr. Mulvey served on the bioethics committee of Broward General Medical Center for twelve years. Dr. Mulvey’s current research interests center around the ethical systems of classical antiquity and the relationships between humans and non-human animals.
