The Broward College Rosemary Duffy Larson Gallery will launch a new art exhibition, Flight of Obscurity XVII, with an opening reception on Thursday, November 15 from 6-9 p.m. and an artist lecture at 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will run through January 16, 2019.

The exhibit features the abstract sculptures of Nathaniel Foley. Foley’s work references flight and the aeronautical form through cones and spires, tension wires and crates. He explores the exhilarating aspects of flight – the human desire to defy earthly limitations – as well as the sinister side of air travel: warfare. These fascinating sculptures are open to interpretation, but their dynamic forms clearly communicate this delicate balance between grace and danger.

Nathaniel Foley received his MFA from Ohio’s Miami University and currently is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Indianapolis.

The Broward College Rosemary Duffy Larson Gallery is located in Building 6 on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus at 3501 SW Davie Rd., Davie, FL. Entrance to the gallery is free and open to the public. Hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., or by appointment.
