The Broward College Rosemary Duffy Larson Gallery will launch a new art exhibition, Retold: Drawing, Memory, and Narrative, with an opening reception on Thursday, August 30 from 6-9 p.m. The exhibition will run through September 19, 2018.

The exhibit features the expressive drawings of Christopher Troutman. These large charcoal and ink works depict daily visual experiences in contemporary urban settings, inspired by his background living in both the US and Japan. Although his dynamic perspectives and narrative panels call to mind the fantastical elements of graphic novels, the subject matter reminds us that our everyday lives are worth exploration.

Christopher Troutman received his MFA from California State University and currently is an Assistant Professor of Art at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

The Broward College Rosemary Duffy Larson Gallery is located in Building 6 on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus at 3501 SW Davie Rd., Davie, FL. Entrance to the gallery is free and open to the public. Hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., or by appointment.
