The Broward County Waterway Cleanup, organized by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and Marine Industry Cares Foundation, is the county’s largest and longest-running environmental event.  The first Waterway Cleanup was held in the late 1970s to help ensure that both the community as a whole and the marine industry could enjoy our local waterways. In 2017, over 2,000 volunteers of all ages by land and over 100 boats worked at 37 locations across the county to remove over 40 tons of trash and debris from our waterways, rivers and canals. You do not need a boat to participate!
