The Association of Performing Arts of India (APAI) kicks off its 20th Anniversary with 5 dance performances in a program called Dancing For God at the Broward County Main Library auditorium on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The program features 5 beautiful jogini ritual dances in full colorful Indian costume. Originally jogini were temple maidens, dedicated for life, to the deity of a temple, practicing classical Indian artistic traditions and rituals. They enjoyed a high social status as dance and music were essential to temple worship. Today, the dances are performed for the public, outside the temple context, so it is a privilege to see them in person.

The Broward County Main Library Auditorium is located at 100 S. Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Ticket prices are: Students $15.00, General $25.00, VIP $35.00 (First four rows). Students can receive community service hours by attending.

Tickets are available  HERE.

The Anniversary celebration continues with a concert on April 7 featuring Tabla, Voice, Sarangi, and Percussion; and with a movie, The Music Room, at Savor Cinema, on August 25.
