In 1896 Henry Flagler brought the railroad to Fort Lauderdale. In 2017 Brightline, a corporate grandson of Flagler’s original railroad, will return passenger service to the FEC line in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It’s been a history-making journey with huge investments of private capital on the part of FEC and Brightline to bring this project to completion. On March 27, 2017 (the 106th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Fort Lauderdale) Fort Lauderdale Historical Society and generous sponsors will honor Brightline and its President, Michael Reininger.
Come celebrate our City’s history at the historic New River Inn with cocktails, food stations and dancing under the stars.
Get your tickets early as they will sell out quickly.
