The Fort Lauderdale Council of the Navy League of the United States has raised funds to donate a Lone Sailor statue to South Florida, expressing appreciation to the men and women across the globe in the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-Flag Merchant Marine, who voluntarily put their lives in harms way to protect freedom. A special dedication ceremony will be held to unveil the sculpture, which stands seven feet tall.
